Gingerbread stars are a great christmas cookie treat. The trouble will be stopping at one.
They make great christmas gifts, and are also something the kids can get involved with, by helping you decorate them.
With this recipe I have given you quantities to make 60 gingerbread stars, because if you’re like me and are making them for gifts or have a husband and four kids, then the more you can make the better.
I find this a very easy and quick biscuit to make, besides the fact they that you need to rest the dough for an hour.
When you make the icing I find using ziplock bags make great piping bags.
You can pop the icing mixture in and seal the bag, then cut the tip to desired size when ready to use, and it doesn’t make a mess, even if the kids are using it.
If giving as gifts I find they look nice stacked in a lolly jar, or wrapped in clear cellophane and tied with a ribbon.
Oh and best stored in an airtight container in a dark room where the hubby and kids can’t find them.
I hope you enjoy them as much as my family do!
And Santa loves them too.
